COVID-19 Vaccine Shipping Update

Beginning the week of January 8, 2024, the McKesson Distribution Center will temporarily begin shipping refrigerated coolers using one of two different warm temperature monitors. Coolers may contain the familiar 3M monitor or may contain a new monitor called SpotSee. Both monitors serve the same purpose, and both have been thoroughly tested for effectiveness. Providers will not receive both monitors in the same cooler. Please ensure that providers follow the same process for checking for any temperature excursions, and follow the directions on the information card specific to the monitor received.

This temporary change in temperature monitors will be in place until approximately February 1, when a new and improved temperature monitor will be used for refrigerated shipments.

• Returning Shipping containers:

  • EcoFlex 96 coolers - providers will receive a prepaid shipping label in the box to return the coolers.

    • If the prepaid shipping label is included, providers should give the box to the UPS next time they are in office to avoid a pick-up charge if scheduled. If they don't have a regular driver, they can take the box to any UPS drop location/store and return them this way.

    • If the provider didn't receive a prepaid label in the box, they will need to contact the Provider Call Center to request to have the label resent to them. 

  • CCT (Cold Chain Technologies) is not requesting for the KoolTemp EPS coolers to be returned

Pfizer 

• For the new refrigerated Comirnaty:

  • There are no temperature monitors being shipped with the product. The shipping containers are designed to maintain temperatures for 84hrs.

  • Packing slips can be requested from Pfizer Customer Service if Providers need more than the sticker on the box. The stickers will include the shipping date for the package.

• Providers are no longer required to return the shipping containers.
