Mpox Updates from Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) Meeting

ACIP recommends vaccination with the 2-dose JYNNEOS vaccine series for persons 18 years and older at risk for mpox. Cases are currently increasing in California; please encourage vaccination. SGF Flu Fluarix Plunger Issues

Background: The manufacturer, Glaxosmithkline Biologicals (GSK), has reported issues with the Fluarix Single-Dose Syringe Plungers compromising the vaccine. The only lot affected is LOT #5KT7B. 

LHD/Provider Guidance: (Manufacturer will determine the next steps for handling the vaccine after a report has been made)

Step 1: Choose Option #6 – (Physician or Prescriber)

Novavax Product Training, Storage Tracking Labels & Standing Orders

• CDC released the updated Novavax product training required for providers and staff administering Novavax for the first time.
• Refer to the Novavax at a Glance resource as a helpful reminder of storage and handling, and administration details.
• CDC has released the Novavax Storage and Beyond-Use Date Tracking Labels.
• CDC has released Standing Orders for administering updated Novavax vaccine.
