During National Immunization Awareness Month this August, let’s promote vaccination among adults. Staying up to date with recommended vaccinations prevents complications and hospitalizations, especially among older adults or adults with underlying chronic conditions. See this resource from Immunize.org for tips on how to improve vaccination coverage among your adult patients.
All adults should receive the following vaccines:
- Tdap
- Zoster (50+ years old)
- Pneumonia (65+ years old)
- RSV (for adults aged 70+ years old and for immunocompromised adults aged 60-69 years old)
- And don’t forget about doses of updated influenza and COVID-19 vaccines this Fall
For a comprehensive list of adult vaccines based on age and condition see 2024 ACIP Immunization Schedule for Adults.
Thank you for your vaccination promotion efforts and ensuring your adult patients stay up to date!
