Protect Healthcare Workers Against Respiratory Diseases This Fall!

Who Needs to Get Immunized? Your Clinic Staff!

As you prepare to vaccinate patients for the 2024 - 2025 respiratory disease season, ensure your team is also protected against flu, COVID-19 and RSV (for those who are eligible).

Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourselves, while also demonstrating to your patients that you trust and value immunizations. After vaccination, you can confidently say:

“I got vaccinated against flu and COVID-19 because I wanted to protect myself against possible complications, like pneumonia and hospitalization. I also want YOU to be protected, so let’s make sure you get them before you leave the clinic today.”

Encourage Staff to Get Vaccinated

Many medical practices require or even offer flu shots for their staff.  If this option is not available, consider policies to support their vaccination, such as:

  • Build a culture of confidence. Offer trusted information and provide staff with the opportunity to ask questions. Make available “I got my flu shot” and “I got my COVID vaccine” stickers.
  • Share the flu vaccine finder to help staff find out where they can get a flu vaccine: https://vaccinefinder.org/
  • Provide vouchers for free or low-cost vaccines at a pharmacy.
  • Grant time off to get vaccinated.
  • Create fun raffle prizes (like a pizza!) to the clinic team that gets fully vaccinated first.
