March 16 is National Vaccination Day!

Join us in celebrating National Vaccination Day on March 16. The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes this day, which started in India, to support vaccination for every child and to thank those working to meet this goal.

On this day, we encourage healthcare providers to get patients up to date on their vaccines. The new 2023 ACIP Schedules for pediatric and adult vaccines, integrate COVID-19 vaccines and boosters into routine care. Use these resources to guide your practice, and let’s continue to fight COVID-19 by promoting primary vaccination and boosters.

Here are ways your clinic staff can help increase vaccination among your patients:

  1. Check vaccine records before patients come in so they don’t miss an opportunity to get vaccinated.
  2. Schedule timely vaccination appointments, including follow-ups for boosters or vaccination series.
  3. Enter all doses administered into an immunization registry (CAIR), as required by AB 1797. Ensure your historical doses are also uploaded, so patients can download a complete and accurate digital vaccination record. The digital vaccination record now informs patients when vaccinations are due.
  4. Use the reminder recall features in CAIR to recall patients who missed or delayed vaccinations during the pandemic.
  5. Continue conversations with families and patients about recommended vaccines.
  6. Dispel misinformation patients may have, reminding patients that vaccines are safe and effective and continue to save lives.
  7. Visit our EZIZ resources page for vaccine job aids and promotional materials.

Thank you for keeping your patients healthy and safe against vaccine-preventable diseases!
