In the Weekly Wrap Up issued on November 9, 2023 an update was included regarding GSK’s product Fluarix and possible plunger issues associated with the packaging. For clarification, no product complaints from the US market have been received by GSK. In the event a detached plunger rod for a Fluarix syringe is experienced, there is no impact on the product quality nor is the vaccine compromised. According to GSK, a detached plunger rod can be screwed back on the syringe and the product could be used as intended.
In the event that a Health Care Provider experiences a product quality issue with any GSK Vaccine, GSK requests that it be promptly reported to GSK by calling the GSK Response Center at (888) 825-5249.
