Enrolled providers in the California COVID-19 Vaccination Program have vaccine inventory that may expire soon. Be sure to reference the table of expiring lots below for a detailed list by product.
Vaccine Expiry Extensions
- Please see the communication about the vaccine expiry extension for Pfizer Tris-sucrose (12+, gray cap) and Pfizer pediatric (5-11 years, orange cap) vaccine products.
- Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) received an expiration extension as well, please see this communication to learn more. No further shelf life extensions are expected for the remaining Janssen.
- Some Moderna monovalent vaccine products (12+ years) that were set to expire in November received an extension, please see this communication for more information.
- To prevent a gap in providers' abilities to provide primary doses, we recommend quarantining and continuing to store recently expired Pfizer and Moderna monovalent COVID-19 vaccines in anticipation of a shelf-life extension. The extension will ensure the administration of monovalent primary doses until bivalent vaccines are approved for the administration of primary doses.
