MMWR Update: Antiviral Medications for COVID-19
A new Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) reviewing studies of COVID-19 rebound concluded that COVID-19 rebound is still quite rare (10-14%) and should not deter clinicians from prescribing antiviral medications for COVID-19 because if it does occur symptoms are mild, resolve quickly, and are not associated with adverse outcomes such as severe disease or death. For more details, refer to the report here.
Suggested Message: Cold and Flu Season is Still Underway, Take Precautions
Cold and flu season is still underway, and hospitalizations for COVID-19 and flu are on the rise. Share messages on social media reminding Californians to take precautions, like wearing a mask in crowded indoor spaces, to reduce the spread of respiratory viruses. It’s also not too late to get flu and COVID-19 vaccines - and you can get both vaccines at the same time. Schedule a vaccine appointment with a health care provider or at MyTurn.ca.gov.
