You're Invited to Register

The California Department of Public Health is delighted to invite you to register for a new tool that makes immunization record checking much easier! The School and Child Care Roster Lookup (SCRL) in CAIR Hub, a new CAIR application, is now available for school and child care staff tasked with tracking immunizations.

Registering for the School and Child Care Roster Lookup (SCRL) in CAIR Hub is simple. The SCRL (we like to call it squirrel!) module is also easy to use. Getting started using SCRL right away is important for two reasons:

  1. Effective March 1, 2023, schools and child care sites will no longer be able to access immunization information from the California Immunization Registry (CAIR2) – they will have to use SCRL instead. If you have traditionally accessed CAIR2 to look up immunization records, SCRL will replace that tool.
  2. As you begin registering students/children for the next school year, SCRL can help staff check their immunization status.

How SCRL Can Help

Using the SCRL module, you can upload a student roster list from your student information system, build lists yourself, or submit names of individual students. SCRL then communicates with CAIR2 and quickly returns the immunization status for each child on your roster using pre-K or K-12 immunization requirements. You can easily see which children are up to date and which children may be behind on their immunizations, saving you lots of time.

We are thrilled we can offer this new tool to you and hope it will make the process of immunization checking easier.

How to Enroll

Follow the steps outlined in the Enrollment Guide. After you submit your application, it will undergo a review process that could take between 1-4 business days. Once approved, you will receive a notification email and you can begin using SCRL! At this time, you can also add others from your child care site or school, so they can also use SCRL to check immunizations.
