Join the California Department of Public Health and other partners throughout California in observing Adolescent Immunization Action Week (AIAW) April 7-11, 2025. A new national observance, AIAW reminds us to make sure adolescents are up to date on their vaccines. See below for actions you can take to participate in AIAW.
- Make sure your 11- and 12-year-old patients are up to date on Tdap and ready to start 7th grade. Stay ahead of the back-to-school rush by scheduling the preteen doctor visit for your patients now.
- Educate patients and parents about vaccines for adolescents, including the HPV vaccine that can prevent more than 90% of HPV-related cancers.
- Post to social media April 7-11 using suggested messages found in the AIAW Campaign Toolkit.
- Utilize every opportunity, including sports physicals, to provide immunizations to adolescents.
Save your staff time by reminding patients that they can access their digital vaccination records at mydvr.cdph.ca.gov.
