Celebrate Black History Month with CDPH
February is Black History Month, a time to honor the contributions and accomplishments of Black and African Americans. While improvements have been made, RSV, COVID-19, and Influenza (flu) vaccination rates remain low among Black and African Americans, leaving many vulnerable Californians at risk for severe disease or hospitalization. Celebrate with CDPH this year by encouraging vaccination against respiratory viruses and promoting Black and African American health and wellness.

Administration for Strategic Preparedness & Response (ASPR) Updates
On January 29, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced an important revision to the Paxlovid Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) Letter of Authorization stating that EUA-labeled Paxlovid distributed by the U.S. government will remain authorized for use only through March 8, 2024. Additional information is available in FDA’s Paxlovid letter of authorization dated January 29, 2024. ASPR has worked with Pfizer, the manufacturer of Paxlovid, to ensure that the federal inventory of Paxlovid is the NDA-labeled product. Please note the return date for EUA-labeled Paxlovid with an expiry of December 2023 or later is now extended to February 29, 2024, to ensure a credit to the USG inventory as NDA-labeled supply. For specific information on Paxlovid returns, including to request pre-paid shipping visit Inmar PaxlovidEUAreturns.com, email PaxlovidEUAreturns@inmar.com, or call 877-740-6148. For more information on programs to ensure continued access to COVID-19 therapeutics, please visit the ASPR Sunsetting the U.S. Government COVID-19 Therapeutics Distribution Program. We are also pleased to announce that the expanded COVID-19 Treatments Locator is now live and combines the Test to Treat locator with the providers’ therapeutics locator. Please encourage partners to opt into the locator. The locator is easy to use and facilitates access to these potentially lifesaving treatments. Sites don’t need a Health Partner Order Portal (HPoP) account to opt into the locator. Partners with an HPoP account can report stock using HPoP, and those without HPoP accounts can do so using the voluntary opt in form.
