Weekly Wrap Up Job Aids Standardized Across Programs
To make compliance easier across vaccination programs, provider job aids have been standardized to provide consistent guidance and are bundled together to reduce their number. Retired job aids redirect to their replacements.
See EZIZ’s Storage and Handling Job Aids for resources that support VFC, Vaccines for Adults (VFA), LHD 317 and State General Fund (SGF) programs.
Return to Table of Contents Vaccines for Children (VFC) is Now Live in myCAvax!
The Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program is excited to announce that it is officially live in myCAvax! VFC vaccine ordering and other related VFC activities are now live in myCAvax as of Monday, June 10, 2024.
Brand-New Providers:
Primary and backup vaccine coordinators, identified in MyVFCvaccines prior to system transition, who do not have myCAvax access should have received a welcome email from no-reply-mycavax@cdph.ca.gov on Monday, June 10, 2024. Once password setup is complete (which must be done within 7 days), you will be able to login to myCAvax and manage VFC vaccine. If you have not received a welcome email or your welcome email link has expired, please contact the Provider Call Center for assistance (email providercallcenter@cdph.ca.gov or call (833) 502-1245).
Existing Providers:
Primary and backup vaccine coordinators will be granted access to myCAvax based on the information provided in MyVFCvaccines. You do not need to take any action to setup or restore myCAvax credentials today. You will be granted system access automatically, based on the information provided in MyVFCvaccines.
- Unlike MyVFCvaccines, in myCAvax, each user will need to log in with their own unique credentials.
- Your primary and backup vaccine coordinator should have received a myCAvax welcome email on Monday, June 10, 2024, which will ask them to finish setting up their myCAvax user account.
- If you need to update your Primary or Backup Vaccine Coordinator information, please contact the Provider Call Center for assistance.
Adding Additional Vaccine Coordinator
- If you need to add an Additional Vaccine Coordinator to your location, please email the Provider Call Center (providercallcenter@cdph.ca.gov) for the request form.
- Please note that only one Additional Vaccine Coordinator can be added per program location to ensure only those that need access will be making changes to their account.
Updating Storage Unit information/Order Holds: Please note that storage unit information must be up to date before you can place an order in myCAvax. Primary and Backup Vaccine Coordinators are able to login and update storage unit information under the “Storage & Handling” tab in Provider Location. A job aid is available in the myCAvax Knowledge Center with additional details.
Please ensure you are using the welcome emails to access myCAvax. In case you didn’t receive the welcome email, you can use the Live Chat to do a password reset and access myCAvax. For additional support outside of contact changes, password reset, additional vaccine coordinator requests, you can contact the VFC Customer Service Center at (877) 243-8832 or via email at MyVFCVaccines@cdph.ca.gov.
Training
There are multiple training sessions available for ordering and managing inventory in myCAvax, as well as Office Hours for a chance to get answers to your questions. For training options, as well as recordings, slide decks, and FAQs refer to the Move to myCAvax page.
Return to Table of Contents June is Pride Month
June is Pride Month! Join CDPH’s Immunization Branch as we celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) communities by highlighting our 2024 PRIDE Toolkit which seeks to support health care and service providers to educate their patients and clients about sexual health issues, and which immunizations to prioritize for LGBTQ+ patients this PRIDE season.
For more information on mpox and additional resources, refer to this CDPH communication.
Return to Table of Contents New Measles Prevention Communication Toolkit
Recent reports of measles cases around the country and in California remind us about the importance of vaccination. The measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine provides the best protection against disease and serious illness. Since the majority of reported measles cases in the United States resulted from international travel, Californians should ensure they and their families are up to date on all vaccines before traveling internationally. CDC recommends that children ages 6 to 11 months receive an accelerated dose of MMR vaccine before traveling abroad.
CDPH has a new Measles Prevention Communications Toolkit with resources and messages to educate Californians about measles and the benefits of vaccination.
Return to Table of Contents Father's Day is This Sunday, June 16, 2024
Strong, healthy fathers need immunizations too! Please join CDPH in celebrating Father's Day by encouraging your patients who are a father/parent to stay up to date on their vaccinations. Fathers can also encourage their pregnant partners to get the shots recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) during pregnancy: - COVID-19 (new formulation coming this fall!)
- Flu (ASAP during flu season)
- Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine (September – January, and/or between 32-26 weeks of pregnancy)
- Tdap (between 27-36 weeks of pregnancy). If expecting, fathers and caregivers should be encouraged to get their Tdap vaccines as well to protect their newborns.
Fathers of older children can ensure that they’re ready for childcare and school by getting them up to date on their vaccines, too. Give them a helping hand by sending reminders now to beat the back-to-school rush. For a full schedule of recommended vaccines through the life cycle, see the CDC’s Recommended Vaccines by Age.
Thank you for all that you do to promote and encourage vaccinations! Together we can improve the health of fathers and their families this Father’s Day and beyond.

Return to Table of Contents June - July Holiday Ordering Cadence Calendar for Bridge Access Program (BAP) and State General Fund (SGF)
Providers should remember to set a temporary closure on their myCAvax accounts during holiday closures at their sites. This will ensure that CDPH can exclude any necessary orders from processing to avoid shipping incidents. See Holiday Ordering & Distribution Calendars below for details. Need assistance with adding or updating a temporary closure? Contact the Provider Call Center at 833-502-1245 or via email ProviderCallCenter@cdph.ca.gov.
Return to Table of Contents Reminder to Report COVID-19 Therapeutics
We would like to remind all providers or sites that received COVID-19 therapeutics from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to finalize their reporting data in the Health Partners Ordering Portal (HPOP), by Sunday, June 30, 2024.
All HHS-procured therapeutics received must be accounted for as administered, transferred, wasted, or returned. Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) recognizes full reconciliation may not be possible, and thus, is striving to reach at least a 95% reconciliation for each product HHS distributed. Once 95% reconciliation is achieved and current on-hand inventory is zero, no additional reporting for that product is required. Partners who still have an inventory of non-expired oral antivirals need to report on-hand inventory that has not yet been dispensed. Federal entities that are receiving HHS-distributed oral antivirals must continue to report that inventory.
