California is experiencing severe rainstorms, wind, and power outages in some areas, which can impact vaccine management and storage. Please take a moment to review the following resources and plan ahead.
- Vaccine Management Plan: Review, update if necessary, and ensure it is easily accessible to staff.
- For Vaccine-Related Emergencies: Review the COVID-19 Provider Operations Manual (POM) for responding to vaccine‐related emergencies and be prepared to know how to respond in a power outage.
- Digital Data Loggers (DDLs): Replace batteries in digital data loggers (DDLs) to ensure continued operation and monitoring of storage unit temperatures during power outages.
- View outages reported by your utility company in your area.
- Reporting Temperature Excursions and Waste: Review the following resources in the POM:

- Reporting Waste/Disposing on Vaccine (pages 97-98)
